Plant Care, Reminders, and Notifications
GardenBot helps you track plant-care actions such as watering, checking, spraying, fertilizing, repotting, rotating, and pruning. The Care Calendar is generated from your plant data and reminder settings.
Care Schedules
Each plant can have care actions turned on or off. Enabled actions use intervals measured in days, weeks, or months in the app. GardenBot stores the schedule and last completed date so it can show due and overdue care.
If a care task looks wrong:
- Open the plant.
- Check which care actions are enabled.
- Check the interval for the action.
- Check the last completed date.
- Save the plant and reopen the Care Calendar.
Marking Care Done
GardenBot supports marking individual care actions done and may also show grouped actions such as “mark all done” for a date or plant where available. Marking care done updates the plant’s last completed care timestamp.
Daily Reminders
GardenBot can schedule local iOS notifications for plant-care reminders. Reminder behavior depends on:
- notification permission in iOS;
- GardenBot reminder settings;
- plant notification settings;
- the user’s timezone;
- whether the plant is active under the current plan;
- iOS notification delivery behavior.
Enable Notifications
In GardenBot:
- Open Settings.
- Turn on Daily reminders.
- Allow notifications if iOS asks.
- Choose the reminder time where available.
If permission was denied earlier:
- Open iOS Settings.
- Find GardenBot.
- Open Notifications.
- Turn on Allow Notifications.
- Return to GardenBot and try again.
Notifications Not Arriving
Check these items:
- Confirm notifications are enabled in iOS Settings.
- Confirm Daily reminders are enabled in GardenBot.
- Confirm the plant has notifications enabled.
- Check Focus modes, Do Not Disturb, notification summary, and Low Power Mode.
- Open GardenBot while online so it can refresh data and rebuild reminders.
- Confirm your device date, time, and timezone are correct.
GardenBot schedules reminders locally on your device. iOS controls exact notification delivery timing and can delay or suppress notifications depending on device state and system settings.
Free and Pro Plans
Free-plan limits may affect which plants are active for care reminders. Over-limit plants can remain visible but locked. Upgrade or adjust active plants where the app allows it if reminders are not appearing for a locked plant.
