Account and Sign-In Help

GardenBot supports Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, email/password accounts, and guest accounts.

Sign-In Options

You can start with:

  • Sign in with Apple;
  • Google Sign-In;
  • email and password;
  • guest mode.

Guest mode is useful for trying the app quickly, but a guest account has limited recovery options. To keep your garden backed up and easier to restore, convert the guest account to Apple, Google, or email sign-in from the app.

Email and Password

Email passwords must be 6 to 64 characters. If you forgot your password, use the password reset flow on the GardenBot sign-in screen.

If password reset email does not arrive:

  1. Confirm the email address is spelled correctly.
  2. Check spam, junk, and promotions folders.
  3. Wait a few minutes and try again.
  4. Contact support if the email still does not arrive.

Apple or Google Sign-In Problems

If Apple or Google sign-in fails:

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Confirm that the Apple ID or Google account can sign in normally outside GardenBot.
  3. Restart GardenBot and try again.
  4. Update GardenBot if an update is available.
  5. Send feedback from the sign-in screen if the app offers it.

GardenBot does not receive your Apple ID password or Google password.

Existing Account Conflicts

If you start as a guest and later sign in to an account that already exists, GardenBot may show a conflict or import flow. This helps avoid accidentally losing local guest data.

When the app offers an import option, review the prompt carefully. It may import guest plants, rooms, photos, chats, and cached data into the signed-in account when supported.

Guest Accounts

Guest accounts are anonymous Firebase accounts. They can store plants and app data, but recovery is limited if you delete the app, change devices, lose local data, or do not convert the guest account.

Inactive guest accounts may be cleaned up after a period of inactivity. GardenBot currently expects cleanup around 90 days where the cleanup process is enabled.

Delete a Guest Account

Open GardenBot > Settings > Delete guest account and confirm deletion. This removes the guest account and local data associated with it. This action cannot be undone.

Delete a Registered Account

Open GardenBot > Settings > Delete account. For security, GardenBot asks you to authenticate again using a linked provider, such as Apple, Google, or email/password.

Account deletion is intended to remove your account record, plants, rooms, chat history, user media, notification settings, and related account data that GardenBot is not required or permitted to retain.

For more detail, see Privacy, Data, and Account Deletion.
